I’ve been an acoustic drummer for 20+ years, having marched in the drum line during high school, and gained experience in a wide range of percussion styles. My current situation, however, presents a challenge: my living arrangement doesn’t allow me to continue practicing my acoustic drums, a Tama Superstar Hyper-Drive Maple Kit in Copper Burst, which is a piece I cherish deeply. It’s a bittersweet reminder of a time when drumming was a central part of my life.

With this, I’m turning 35 this year, and I’m determined to rekindle this beloved hobby. A new electronic drum set would be a transformative step, allowing me to fully immerse myself in the world of drumming, expand my creative range, and really bring my musical vision to life. It’s a significant investment, but I believe it’s a crucial investment in my creative well-being. What better way to treat myself, and more so my hobby, than to give Kyle a dream electric drum set?

I’m saving money to purchase a Alesis Strata Club electronic drum set, not to replace my Tama kit – my Tama is a treasured possession and a significant part of my musical heritage – but rather to supplement and strengthen my practice routine. The difference in response, sound, and quality between an acoustic and an electronic kit is a major factor for me; I’m aiming for a kit that offers both exceptional play-ability and a rich, modern sound.

I’m setting up this website to help me achieve this goal, and I’m hoping to reach $1,600 to cover the purchase of the Alesis Strata kit. This is a significant investment for me, but it represents a chance to rediscover a lifelong passion and create a lasting legacy.
